abandoned.blog documents the history, architecture and current condition of abandoned places. We are a documentary archive and a storytelling magazine. We are not an urban exploration guide, and we do not provide instructions for entering any building or site.
Our no-trespassing stance
We do not encourage trespassing, and we never publish anything designed to help someone enter a property unlawfully. Access to abandoned places is almost always governed by law — it may be private property, a protected monument, a hazardous structure, or all three at once. Whether you may lawfully enter is a question only you, the landowner and local law can answer. When in doubt, stay out.
Safety warning
Abandoned buildings and sites are dangerous, often in ways that are not visible. Collapsing floors and roofs, unstable masonry, asbestos and other hazardous materials, exposed wiring, standing water, sharp debris, and unseen shafts or cellars are common. Urban exploration can cause serious injury or death, and it can be illegal. Nothing on this site should be read as encouragement to take those risks.
How we work
- We document places where access is lawful or where we have permission.
- We take nothing and move nothing. We leave every place as we find it.
- We do not publish precise access routes, entry points or anything that would help someone break in.
- We avoid locations where publicity would put a fragile site or a community at risk.
Accuracy and corrections
We research every entry carefully, using primary and secondary sources, and we name our sources where we can. History is rarely settled, and records are sometimes contradictory or lost. If you believe something on this site is inaccurate, please tell us at hello@abandoned.blog with a source, and we will correct it and note the change.
Images and copyright
Photographs on abandoned.blog are our own or are used under a licence that permits reuse. Where an image comes from a third party, we credit it. If you believe an image has been used incorrectly, contact us and we will act promptly. You may not reproduce our original photographs without permission.
Limitation of liability
The information on this site is provided in good faith and for general information only. To the fullest extent permitted by law, abandoned.blog accepts no liability for any loss, injury or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, anything published here, or from any visit to any place mentioned.
